Jim McKinney

Senior Pastor

I am excited to be the pastor of St. Luke’s UMC. I am a lifelong Methodist, having grown up in Scenic Hills UMC, Memphis, Tn. I am a graduate of Briarcrest Christian High School, University of Memphis, and Memphis Theological Seminary. Jenny, my wife is a graduate of Bartlett High School, Middle Tennessee State University, and Harding Graduate School. She is an elementary school teacher with the Bartlett Municipal School System. We have two sons: Ross and Stone.
My family and I have served the following churches in the Memphis Conference: Oakland/Palma Charge in Marshall County, Kentucky; Grand Junction/Lagrange/ Holmes Memorial Charge in Hardeman County, Tennessee; Macedonia/Bolton Charge in northeastern Shelby County; and Ellendale UMC in Bartlett, Tennessee. Before entering the ministry I was a teacher with the Shelby County School System.
My family and I enjoy University of Memphis Athletics, hiking, camping, and traveling. I also enjoy coaching my sons in various sports, and Jenny enjoys working with our sons in Boy Scouts.
One of my favorite verses of Scripture is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

Mary Page Contreras

Director of Children's Ministry

Hi everyone! My name is Mary Page and I am the Director of Children's Ministries at St. Luke's! I have lived in Memphis for as long as I can remember and I have been attending St. Luke's since I was a teenager. I stepped in as the Children's Director in 2022 and have been loving the work ever since! My favorite part of this job is the opportunity to provide a safe, inviting, and engaging space for both kids and their families to feel welcomed and supported throughout their formative years and beyond. I love getting to see families grow and meeting new people through our community events. It is very important to me for kids to have a place where they can just be kids safely and for parents to have a partner and supportive guidance as their children grow. In my free time I enjoy being outside with my rescue animals and sharing meals with my friends and family.

Rev. Amy Martin

Minister of Music and Worship Arts

I am so pleased and grateful to be joining you at St. Luke’s as Minister of Music and Worship. In this role I’ll be directing the Chancel Choir and the Joyful Ringers, planning and leading in worship, and also teaching music classes at the Day School and we’ll see what else comes along! I’ve had the blessing of serving in music ministry in various churches for over 30 years (including 10  years at St. Lukes from 1991-2001) and in 2021 I was ordained as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church. A primary role of the Deacon is to help connect the church with the needs of the world, so I look forward to serving with you as we join God’s work beyond the walls of our church to serve others in Christ’s name and spirit. My husband Rob and I are pleased to be back in Memphis together. He is the Lead Pastor at Emmanuel UMC. We have two daughters, Brittany and Ashley, who were both baptized at St. Luke’s and are now living their best lives in the Carolinas. Besides church work and family, I love a good road trip, hiking, board games, puzzles, tofu, and a debut novel.
