The Epistle for May 27th, 2008, is now available. From Pastor Mark’s Epistle:
Dear Friends,
Hope you had a good Memorial Day weekend.
We had a good day Sunday at St. Luke’s. At least two
strong “Congratulations!” are in order. One goes to
Beth Masters and the entire Children’s Ministry team
that made the May 21 Auction a super success. At
last count, over $3,533 had been raised for the St. Louis
mission trip. The other salute goes to David Hensley
and all the Sunday breakfast team. Our very first one on
May 25 attracted sixteen community folks and fourteen
St. Luke’s “regulars” and twelve of the sixteen attended
the 8:30 service.
This coming week, we need your prayers for
the Annual Conference session being held at Jackson Civic
Center. In addition to usual business such as commissioning
and ordaining clergy, there will be special
proposals to consider. One of these will deal with
streamlining our structure for better effectiveness
and affordability. Sounds good, doesn’t it?
Pray for our delegates and alternates as well
as ministers representing St. Luke’s. Laity are Bob and
Janie Hendrix, David Smith and Evelyn Brady. God bless
everyone!
