The Epistle for May 6th, 2008, is now available. From Pastor Mark’s Epistle:

Dear Friends,

Coming up this Sunday is PENTECOST, known as
the “Birthday of the Church” through the powerful story
found in the Acts of the Apostles, chapter 2. As part of
the celebration, WEAR SOMETHING RED to worship.
This is the liturgical color of the season, linked to the
tongues of fire that appeared above Christians that
day.
What a blessing that May 11 is also Mother’s Day!
We are proud to honor the wonderful women who mean
and have meant so much to us in lovingly shaping our
lives…
Another seasonal thing — I’d like personally to
congratulate all our many students at one level or another
who are graduating this spring. It’s very personal for
Emily and myself, as we will attend two upcoming
ceremonies. Our niece, Cary Small, graduates from
Hendrix College on May 10. Our daughter, Rev.-to-be
Claire Matheny, graduates May 17 from Garrett
Evangelical Seminary.
Springtime’s an exciting season, right?!
