The Epistle for April 8th, 2008, is now available. From Pastor Mark’s Epistle:
Dear Friends,
It’s happening! The Vision for St. Luke’s to be Jesus Christ’s “Heart, Mind and Hands”is moving each day toward reality. Reported at Church Council on April 6, all kinds of steps in programs are already being made.
Here is just a sample of things from the four different areas…
- HEART: A new third worship service is being planned, and Congregational Care for our homebound is being reorganized.
- MIND: Intergenerational Church Wide Picnic is coming up April 20 and Older Adult team is sponsoring day trips and caring grief ministry; “300 Group” is gearing up to reach new residents.
- HANDS: Soup Kitchen now has a new name, “Saturday Supper,” and HARC is sharing in concern about proposed closing of branch library.
- STEWARDSHIP: Exciting new plan to have a Hospitality Center beside our north parking lot is perking; new windows are on the way, too.
If you do not yet sense a spirit of hope for the future, take a closer look at what’s happening. Talk with some of the devoted laity and staff helping to make it happen. Most of all PRAY DAILY and volunteer to do what you can to help!
Thanks!
In service, …Pastor Mark
