The Epistle for March 11th, 2008, is now available. From Pastor Mark’s Epistle:
Dear Friends,
We now come upon the climactic days of Lent, traditionally and very well named as Holy Week. I hope you will involve yourself in as many of the services and activities as possible, keeping utmost in your mind and heart the love it took for Jesus to face the cross.
An important underlying theme for us to take seriously is revealed in the unforgettable Garden of Gethsemane scene. With free will, just as we have it, Jesus made a choice in his prayer, “…not my will, Lord, but Thy will be done.”
In many ways, this is the most important message we may glean from Holy Week — that the journey is about seeking God’s will and not our own.
As you continue to reflect, study, and pray, ponder this search. Look for God’s will for your life just as diligently as the woman who sought the lost coin; as the shepherd who reclaimed the lost sheep …
In service, …Pastor Mark
